Description
Andrew Putnam Hill was a man of many talents. His artistic interests ranged from landscape and portrait painting to photography. In addition, Hill was a man of vision and action, leaving behind a multiplicity of legacies. Not only do we have his wonderful paintings and photographs left to enjoy, but we also have the magnificent redwoods of Big Basin as a reminder of his commitment to conservation. This book is a reproduction of a photo album donated to the San Jose Historical Museum by Robert Lee Williams of Ohio.
Scenes Along the Line of the San Jose and Los Gatos Interurban Railroad is an interesting collection of photographs of the construction of the trolley line in 1903, scenes along its route, as well as images of other areas of the Santa Clara Valley at the turn of the century. There is something for everyone in this eclectic album.
