San Jose, California – August 14, 2015. Step back in time on Friday, September 18, at 5:30pm and visit Manny’s Cellar. Formerly occupying the basement of the historic Fallon House, Manny’s Cellar served as the ultimate lunch and dinner destination! For many who worked in downtown San Jose from 1962 – when the restaurant opened – until it closed in 1990, Manny’s holds a special place in their hearts. Today, the Peralta Adobe-Fallon House Historic Site is operated by History San José, which provides educational programming to more than 10,000 school children each year.
“We are thrilled to bring back Manny’s Cellar and especially proud to have Linda Pereira, Manny’s daughter, as the event’s Co-chair,” says Alida Bray, President & CEO of History San José. “Manny’s is a special place for so many, and this event provides the opportunity to relive history by reminiscing, swapping stories, and enjoying music and a great meal -– just like Manny use to serve!”
This fall, the 2nd Annual Return of Manny’s Cellar will be held on Friday, September 18 from 5:30pm – 9:30pm. Each $75 ticket includes live entertainment, dinner and beverages.
Proceeds from the event benefit educational programs at History San José. Sponsorship opportunities are available by contacting Michelle Powers at 408.521.5016 or email@example.com.
