Living History “Reinactors”: People who enjoy dressing in turn-of–the-century costumes, amateur actors, and those interested in history to present “Living History” on weekends at History Park in Kelley Park. You must be available on weekends during the summer, fall, and spring, enjoy meeting people and learning new things about San José’s past, and sharing same with visitors. Must be able to attend several training workshops that deal with costuming, history of San José, and customer service.

Digitization/Scanning Volunteers: The Research Library & Archives is looking for volunteers with digitization/scanning experience and/or Photoshop skills to help us digitize a variety of materials. If you have attention to detail, and have a few hours a week to help out, please let us know.

Cataloging Volunteers: The Collections Center is always looking for volunteers who have cataloging or data entry experience, to help catalog photographs, artifacts, and possibly print material. You must have attention to detail and count organization as one of your skills. Please note your specific experience in the online form.

Volunteers continue to be the backbone of History San José. Each year approximately 20,000 volunteer hours are contributed to the orgainization in just about every area of operation.

The Museum has been fortunate to have the talents of artists, architects, engineers, teachers, historians and history enthusiasts, reporters, community leaders and political activists who donate their time and expertise to the Museum. History San José wishes to thank all those who continue to contribute and encourages new volunteers to come lend your expertise!
