 School Programs: School Days in the 1890s
History Park (in Kelley Park)

GRADES 4 – 5
GRADE 4 STANDARDS: SS 4.4.8; LA Reading 1.1; Writing 1.4; Listening & Speaking 1.1, 1.2; Math MR 2.4
GRADE 5 STANDARDS: LA Reading 1.1; Listening & Speaking 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.6

Students spend the morning in a restored one-room schoolhouse being taught as if they were attending in the 1890s. They figure a problem, practice their penmanship and read a page in the McGuffey Reader. At recess, they play "Mother May I" and other schoolyard games.

Time: Wednesdays, 9:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Group Size: 20 minimum, 35 maximum
Cost: $180 minimum; $9 per student
Chaperones: Minimum one chaperone for each 10 students
