REGISTRATION FOR THE 2008/2009 SCHOOL YEAR If you did not receive our 2008/2009 School Program Brochure you can download it. Note you will need Adobe Reader or other PDF viewer. 2008/2009 History San Jose School Programs (1.1MB) Please note that we accept registrations via fax, mail or the website. No telephone reservations are accepted. All programs will be reserved on a first come, first-served basis. Registration opens at 8:00 AM on the following dates. Registrations received before the open date and time WILL BE DISCARDED. EXPERIENCE ADOBE DAYS opens Monday, June 16, 2008 Adobe Days is our most popular program and typically sells out for the entire school year within the first hour of registration. Please plan accordingly. WESTWARD HO! opens Monday, July 14, 2008 Westward Ho! is a very popular program and typically sells out for the entire school year within the first few hours of registration. Please plan accordingly. ALL OTHER PROGRAMS open Monday, July 28, 2008 All of History San Jose's school programs meet specific History-Social Science Content Standards for California public schools. Additionally, the core curriculum of HSJ programs can always be aligned with the Language Arts Standards. History-Social Science, Language Arts, Math and Science standards are noted with each program description. CUSTOM PROGRAMS FOR GROUPS OF 10 OR MORE
We serve more than school groups! The Education Department offers specialized tours and programs for many kinds of groups. Scouts, groups with special needs, pre-schools, homeschools, and senior groups are just a few of the audiences that we serve. If you do not fit into the requirements outlined for school classes, feel free to contact us about a customized visit. History In A Bag!
No time to shop but want your class to have a memento of their visit to History San Jose? The Museum Store is offering two different History Bags, priced from $2.00 and $4.00. The Bags will be individually packaged with children's items relating to California history and ready for pickup at the program site on the day of your visit. Silicon Valley History Online (SVHO)
History San Jose is part of a collaborative website hosting 1,000 historical images from California's Santa Clara Valley. The website is a partnership of seven local museums, archives, and libraries. The digital collection spans the human history of the region, from Ohlone baskets to silicon wafers. Visit the website at www.siliconvalleyhistory.org.
